i know how u feel i have to talk to people like that a LOT!!! they say "we have a firewall and a Ati virus Program " ok your computer can turn in to a botnet a ur ati virus will not pick it up and a firewall is like a filter/blocker so you are not safe and you have to have a super good "FIREWALL" and watch your network for a lot of traffic to see if the hacker is send a lot of info through the network......

they are exploits.. meaning gltches or bugs withing the Targeted OS.. so the exploit would be the bug.. and the payload is the method of delivery.. read up on what the metasploit project is.. a firewall isnt really a wall.. its only a filter that monitors ports.. so if the attack is from port 80- it wouldn't know any better..
