Rotties are drover dogs but they are put in the working dog catagorie because they have the smarts and power to do it all, when first bred they were cart pulling dogs, then fighter in war, then herding, cart pulling, and guard dogs.

The ultimate dog? nobody tried to create an ultimate dog, they created dogs for all different uses. The fact the german shepards are used more than any other dog shows its mainly about brain power and history

im str8 up a doberman owner, n i am aware of its history...n your right it was created from the rott, but thats only one of the dogs used... THE GERMAN PINCHER, THE GREAT DANE, THE BISERON, ORIGINAL GERMAN SHEPERED WHICH IS NOW EXTINCT, AND THE GREY HOUND...all these dogs were use 2 creat the ultimate dog
