I never thought of it from that point of view, I see your point, and I can't say your wrong, no way would I chance putting my daughter at any kind of risk. It paid off for him and well done for that but what if it never?

First of all you have the situation all wrong. The movie had a kid at age 4 or 5 for dialogue puposes. In real life though while chris was struggling with this crisis so to speak, his son was a baby. He couldnt even walk. Oh and to answer your question. Walking in life throught eggshells accomplishes nothing. If your smart, (which you seem) i think you will get this.

Is it worth putting your son at risk? If his son got killed, he would be in jail. All this movie proves is "moral luck". One guy gets away with it--make a movie.

Ok, let's assume your premise. Say I have a four year old son and want to get rich so he knows who his father is (although I know my father better than anyone, and he is not rich). One night in the subway station he gets raped and killed. Am I now not repsonsible for the death of my son? Just to become rich? I understand your point, but its like saying go invest all your money in lotto tickets so one day you might be rich--then make a movie of the one guy who won.

I cried when I watched this movie last year..although I knew it was basd on a true story, I thought it was just one the "true story" inscriptions on movies...but after watching the interview of Mr. Gardner, I got overwhelmed with emotions... I am even more stronger in the believe that we get what we consistently work for...pray for..dream about... and hope for in life!!

I agree with the reality Tv show thing, glad he didn't do it. It's not right to make the less fortunate compete for a better quality of life that they all deserve. That would be like a reality show wioth cancer patients competing for treatment. Just give it to them regardless, they shouldn't have to compete for it. I don't know how people could get entertainment out of that

Because there were certain expectations he had that he wanted to give to his son. He obviously didn't want to settle for anything less.

I think its cool when you see this kinda guy. Raped... Wow. I couldent belive that, and the hookers giving him money. I guess it true what they say that there is a little good in everyone. Im watching the movie right now and hes just getting the job. gives me goosebumps!! |
