haha im a redneck and i shot it twice and even still im alive as you can tell. but i still would love to have a .30-06. good power and just enough recoil to be fun but not beat the shit out of your shoulder.yeah but im not a fan of anything less than .308 for a battle rifle. i never have liked the assault rifle.

I will never fire a .50 caliber rifle BECAUSE:Karma does not like rednecks and .50 cal rifles to mix. Ever see the video of the guy that fired the Barret? The round ricocheted off a hill, came back, and popped off his left ear cover. I'll stick to my .30-06, thanks. :PAnyway, the age of spray-and-pray weapons are starting to fade, and the focus of cartridges is already shifting from light weight and ROF to stopping power. 'Bout time.Too bad money's still an object...

amen brother. i have seen so many times that test show automatic to be an inefficient practice. so i figure go back to single shot heavy cartidges. i shot the m14 yesterday at the range and the recoil was nothing someone couldnt handle. i also shot a .50 cal rifle which was awesome.

Something else I would like to point out is that they put so much emphasis on the automatic feature in this video, but the newest and most commonly used rifle in the M16 used in the US Military, the M16A4, does not have a fully-automatic feature.Can I get an amen?

I'm a little late, but yes. That was Paul Howe.He described in the book being able to aim dead-on and hit the skinnies but they wouldn't even slow. I don't know about the rest of you, but that'd be a scary feeling for me. If I shoot a guy, I want him to go down and stay there.Howe also mentioned the 5.56mm round's lack of stopping power in an interview on the Discovery show Future Weapons, where he described the same thing.Thanks for the input, disurbedone5009!

sure the 5.56 can tumble therefore maintain the same wounding capability as the 7.62, and the guy is still gonna bleed to death. but when you kick down a door and there's an AK pointed at your face, you need him dead and dead NOW! Truthfully, the M14 will fire everytime you pull the triger and kill whatever it hits, you cannot say the same for the M16.

M14 better then m16 any .308 is better the a.223 idc if its a sling shot.HK417 battle rifle or sniper version(20in) barrel wud rape the m14 is as accurate,powerful,and effective range as m14 but is imposssible to jam or break and is more modern then m14 has picanty rail for optics
