She never "competed" to try to sing like Aretha. She never had to.When Natalie was introduced, the media and others compared her to Aretha and billed her as the New Aretha causing the usual drama.I love them both. Yes, the original is better but this was a fun fresh version as well.

Natalie is sing the Aretha classic "Day Dreaming" She always admired Aretha and early in her career tried to compete and sing like her. Good version but the original will always be the best. Natalie Cole however is the first lady of Sophisticated Soul and I am so glad to hear this version.
