The fact that the Universe obeys certain fixed laws is in fact one evidence for a designer - unless you, being the genius you are, have an explanation for them.

abhish, You're such a nerd! "Entropy" doesn't always have to be defined by a mathematical formula. Mr. Missler was using a definition that his audience could understand, and one which even a physicist would likely use for a similar audience. Here's the definition:"a process of degeneration marked variously by increasing degrees of uncertainty, disorder, fragmentation, chaos, etc.; specif., such a process regarded as the inevitable, terminal stage in the life of a social system or structure"

friend ..science is beautiful... have you ever read of something called "event horizon"? Imagine Hubble measuring the acceleration of distant galaxies. Closer to you, look at youtube, look at your computer, your car, your phone, your TV, the reinforced cement concrete in your house, the stainless steel and the teflon and plastic. Isn't it all incredible? You use so much science every day, love it , live it.

sorry at end of the first paragraph i wrote integral of dq/T ...it should read integral of dQ/T. better?
abhish1313 (August 28, 2008 at 1:47 pm)
So you see... its very simple and very clear. The talk of "randomness" is only illustrative in nature. You are not supposed to use it for any reason other than for motivating the law. Try to use the equation dS=dQ/T to prove that the universe is designed... let us see. As I told you, its not religion, its science. You MUST make logical sense to be taken seriously.

Ah! the concept of entropy. Its more than a concept. It can be measured...thats why we call it "science". It has a precise meaning. Here it is. For a thermodynamical process, if S is the total chnge in entropy and an infinitesmial amount of heat dQ is transferred at the temperature T (bec temp is changing constantly, we can assume only that an infinitesmial amt of heat can be transferred at a fixed temp), the total change in entropy is the integral of dq/T over the process.

What a typical atheist. You wasted two long paragraphs pontificating on unrelated topics, trying to get the last word in just because you can't admit you didn't understand the concept of entropy. LOL

scientific terms have a specific meaning. The English language rendering is not always a good one. You know...Heisenberg once lamented that he should not have called his principle the "uncertainty principle". That is because of idiots like you who will pick on anything. Unlike the Bible, science books are written in specific meaningful language... you cant start anywhere .. you could read the Bible backwards and it would still make some religious sense...not so for science.

sorry dude...but most concepts in science are a little "imaginary" like an "ideal gas". stop getting ur science from people who start a speech on "science" by quoting Pilate... or people who think there is such a thing as "a science of God"... a lecture on science from someone who thinks there was a garden of Eden! Its amazing how you idiots will reject all science and then embrace one line that "seems" to make sense to you. Unlike religion, you cant start anywhere in science...

abhish1313, While you may have had in mind an imaginary desk in an imaginary universe where entropic forces do not ultimately prevail, I do not think that is what the speaker had in mind. Your attempted ridicule of the speaker has thus turned back upon yourself, revealing you to be the only buffoon here. |
