No, they are not philistines, just fakes!
Smudger830 (September 29, 2008 at 11:57 am)
Nooo they must all be filthy philistines not like you and your uber-cool mates who all went to school with Ian Curtis and liked Joy Division when they were playing with pencils on pots. How dare they wear a T-Shirt that only approved people should wear. What preeeeeeetentious, schoolboy tripe.....

my favourite performance of ceremony

fniccoli, we can compare NO to JD if we want to. Your opinion on the two bands is subjective. I, like many others, feel that NO has made some masterpiece albums too, and JD and NO are both great. They are both great because NO is 3/4 of JD. Your opinion is your opinion and others are entitled to theirs too.

Hooky kicks f'n ass on bass....just listen to that rich Electro Harmonix chorus sound on the bass starting at 3:23. Nice!

Yeah, i agree I think a lot of people are buying into the myth and people are making money out of the tragic death of Ian Curtis. I don't believe for a minute that all these people walking around in their Joy Division T-shirts newly purchased from HMV are sitting around listening to Closer.

people want to hang on to the darkness of joy division and N.O to the mdoesnt add up it is odd but they watched there front man destroy himself they couldnt stay on that path so the ydid the last two songs and let it be every one else should do the same i dont like everything N.O does but their still awesome..

Radiohead were kind of goofing around with the ceremony cover, not really taking it seriously. I love both N.O. and Radiohead the same. Substance and Ok Computer are both outstanding pieces of art.

I liked both.

This is how ceremony should be performed, not the slop that was the radio head cover. |
