Luckily I have a Compaq so I can wipe my harddrive without losing my OS, also I had a Trojan earlier today but AVG couldn't get rid of it so I did a System Restore and things seem fine now but I don't know if it is gone so I'm contemplating formatting my harddrive

that doesn't help. restoring your system can be very dangerous when you're infected, it can mess things up. and disconnecting from the internet doesn't really do anything. once it's in, it's in. i recommend yooh to install Windows Defender, AVG 8.0, and ThreatFire. those three together works perfectly, and the cool thing is it's free! YAYY!
