The behind the scenes look at the way HBO started things out was really cool. A blast from the past. I'm sure technology now wouldn't take that much time with the experience of programmers/multimedia technicians. It was just as inspirational as I remember it.

The "Stargate effect" that's great! When I was a kid this intro used to scare the hell out of me. But at the same time it captivated me enough to make me do the one eye open one eye closed routine. When you can clearly remember a one minute video for 27 years, you know the people involved were successful.

This intro was ahead of its time,the HBO logo from space, subjest that the HBO signal was coming from space and now we have satelite cable.

the shit you'd never thought you see again. I remember seeing this video when I was like 4 or 5. The thing that looked familiar was the rusty looking "HBO" model they were building.

The song is available in MP3 format. Just look around. Interestingly enough - this HBO intro ran all the way up 'till about 2003/2004 I believe. I was very sad when they stopped running it. "HBO3" was my online identity from 1997 until 2005.
