go to the sound icon in tray at bottom right, right click and go to playback devices. select the SPDIF interface as default instead of speakers

question my dv6500t with the nvidia 8400m gs when i hooked it up to my brothers tv via HDMI sound didnt go to the TV did sound go through for you by the way mine is broken so i cant test right now lol

Just connect the cables and go to your Nvidia settings in your system tray - you should see an option that says "Sony TV" under display somewhere.

Hey Boamuro, i have a hpdv6500t with HDMI and i want to connect it to a 46" sony bravia v series(not full HD,just HD ready...) lcd tv.i have the hdmi cable also...how do i do it?simple plug in both sides? or do i need to set special resolutions and all those settings???i didnt wanna try anything cuz it might screw up the new tv... thanks
